Summary:

Handle the requests and transactions of hotel guests and coordinate with other departments as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:

1. Accurately book guest reservations.

2. Register guests into the hotel in a prompt courteous manner using up-selling techniques to maximize room rates; prepares for group check-ins, check outs, and VIP arrivals.

3. Handle confidential information, including guest records and room number, with a high degree of integrity.

4. Answer phone in a prompt, efficient, and professional manner.

5. Route phone calls as appropriate and take message for hotel staff and guests with accuracy.

6. Read and communicate through the Logbook daily.

7. Responsible for proper administration of key control for issued keys or keys left by guests in room.

8. Promote hotel services, facilities and outlets and becomes informed and knowledgeable of upcoming events/functions in the hotel and surrounding area.

9. Answer guest questions about the property and amenities and is able to refer guests to area attractions and outlets.

10. Arrange for the appropriate transportation of guests to and from hotel when necessary.

11. Resolve minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the customer; inform supervisor of challenges, complaints, incidents, disturbances or unhappy guests.

12. Respond quickly to customer requests or complaints in a friendly manner and ensures appropriate action is taken. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

13. Complete daily paper work as assigned, including guest incident reports if necessary.

14. Accurately handle departmental accounting of monies, receipts, and other forms of credit.

15. Act as Manager on Duty when General Manager is off-site.

16. Wash, dry, fold and restock all storerooms and carts with clean sheets and towels if asked by supervisor.

17. Know all safety precautions, emergency procedures, and be familiar with the building systems.

18. Complete hotel specific and brand required training as instructed.

19. Maintain a professional and respectful image at all times through appearance, dress and actions.

20. Promote positive guest feedback by striving to exceed guest expectations.

21. Maintain a positive attitude while at the hotel and when representing the hotel off the premises.

22. Refrain from disrespectful words and actions towards guests, fellow employees and supervisors.

23. Follow all company and hotel brand policies and procedures.

24. Other duties assigned by supervisor or management

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

2. Must be able to carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

3. Must be able to push or pull objects weight up to 50 pounds.

4. Must be able to stand, stoop or bend frequently throughout the day

5. Reaching and grasping with arms and hands, including reaching above shoulder level.

6. Working with equipment to perform procedures where carelessness could result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle pulls

7. Possible exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity

Supervised by the General Manager and Front Desk Manager

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
