POSITION SUMMARY:
The Application Equipment Engineer will be a member of the Linde Global Applications Equipment team. In this role, the successful candidate will design equipment and execute Linde’s commercial equipment contracts and new process application development in the markets of energy, water, and metals applications. This will require working closely with other application engineers and project managers as well as global commercialization team members, Linde Regional Business Units (RBU) and Linde customers.
The successful candidate will be expected to select gas flow process and instrumentation equipment (valves, transmitters, etc.), manage the fabrication process, commission, and startup the application equipment at global customer locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to “self-start” with minimal direction, strong organizational and project management skills, safety focus and experience in industrial process applications including gas processing and combustion technologies. This position provides the opportunity to work on process control projects in an all-encompassing fashion – from initial project conception to project closeout with the customer. It requires can-do attitude, ownership of the work process and building a successful long-term customer relationship.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Sourcing of vendors and fabricators for equipment (skids, burners, valves, instrumentation, etc.)
- Fabrication and vendor management for Linde purchased equipment
- Managing project execution of small equipment projects
- Generation and update of technical and project related documentation
- Design to applicable design codes and design verification with calculations
- Participation in internal and external safety reviews, compliance with all safety standards
- Documenting designs in specifications, preparation of project documentation and manuals
- Startup, troubleshooting and optimization in collaboration with other Linde and customer engineers
- Close collaboration with Linde Technology Commercialization, regional Application Engineering and R&D
- Communication with customers on implementation and interfacing of equipment
- Supporting of spare parts orders, field demonstrations and commercialization of combustion technologies worldwide
QUALIFICATIONS:
Salary and Job Grade Commensurate with Experience
Basic:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering with focus on mechanical design and 5 or more years of demonstrated project experience on industrial equipment projects
- Associate Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related mechanical design field and 10 or more years of industrial equipment and project management experience
- Experience starting up and troubleshooting of equipment
- Proficiency with maintaining Excel engineering spreadsheets, project management tools
- Ability to work in industrial plants on elevated platforms
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time (domestic and international)
Preferred:
- 5 or more years of experience with projects building skidded equipment and their key components (mechanical and electrical)
- Experience with combustion systems and/or industrial gas handling equipment
- Experience with integration of equipment into chemical plants or melting furnaces
- Experience with CAD software
- 3 or more years of experience leading implementations of industrial projects

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
