Summary of Position:
Ability to speak English and Spanish a plus. Provide direct patient care for patients ages birth through the age of young adult who present for wellness exams, illness exams, or the assessment and evaluation of injuries or wounds. Under general supervision from the physician or physician assistant, deliver care to patients utilizing the process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, in accordance with established philosophy. Medical assistants collaborate with other professional disciplines, when indicated to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Medical assistants effectively interact with patients and their family members, while maintaining the standard of professional care. It is essential that this individual is willing to routinely jump in to help others when necessary, especially when doing so will assist with maintaining proper patient flow.
Essential Job Requirements:
· Provide age and culturally appropriate care to patient.
· Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
· Assist patients to be comfortable and cooperative with examinations/procedures.
· Obtain patient’s vital signs, such as blood pressure, breathing and heart rate, and initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
· Record chief complaint/reason for visit.
· Perform physical, medical and diagnostic tests as directed.
· Collect and prepare samples of patient’s urine and stools for laboratory tests.
· Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications.
· Report adverse reaction to medications or treatments immediately to prescribing physician or physician assistant.
· Assist treating physician or physician assistant during examination, treatment and procedures.
· Provide education, information and support to the patient’s family.
· Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format in the electronic medical record (EMR).
· Completes required orientation as directed by facility.
· Follow CRP office and OSHA safety rules.
· Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol.
· Respect cultural and religious practices of patients.
· Conduct individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs specified by physician or physician assistant.
· Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by the patient’s condition and reprioritizes care accordingly.
· Perform therapeutic interventions as established by individualized plan of care for the patient and his/her family.
· Document/chart patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
· Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to pediatric resuscitation protocols.
· Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights.
· Uphold HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and client facility staff.
· Perform front desk duties including answering phone, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out for appointments, checking insurance eligibility and other duties as assigned.
· Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts.
· Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
· Scan documents in EMR.
· Complete Care Plans.
· Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
Required Education:
· Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
Required Licensure:
· Current license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
· Current BLS Certificate.
Required Experience:
· Minimum of one (1) year experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Hours: This position will be 4 days a week. Required to be available for PRN work when other nursing staff are absent.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
