Philly Office Retail, a fast paced and growing Real Estate Development Company, based in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, is seeking a full-time Comptroller to be a key member of the Management team. The Comptroller will report to the Executive Vice-President and assume a strategic role in the overall financial management of the company. The Comptroller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company and its related entities. This includes direct responsibility for bookkeeping, accounting systems, financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, strategic planning, deal analysis, and partnership compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Financial & Accounting functions of the organization.
  • Provide hands on bookkeeping services, and oversee bookkeeping staff/interns, to ensure prompt payment and appropriate timing of disbursements.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and reporting.
  • Oversee payroll and HR issues and policies.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and evaluate individual projects.
  • Work with outside accounting firms to ensure effective internal controls are in place and GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting are in compliance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in real estate accounting.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience creating and evaluating pro-formas, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
  • Knowledge of Appfolio property management software is a plus.
  • BS in Accounting, Finance and/or MBA required. A CPA is a plus, but not required.
  • 5+ years in financial leadership roles, preferably in real estate development, property management and/or construction industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
