Database Administrator

Location: Longmont, CO

Schedule: Full Time

Salary: $130K-$150K

OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Database Administrator to maintain operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, COTS software products, and perform system administration within the scope of the contract. This program is in support of a U.S. Space Force Missile defense program.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

• Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM plus 9 years of experience
• OR Master’s plus 7 years of experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and correct system performance issues.
• Patching system and operating system software.
• Maintaining software licenses.
• Assist Information Assurance with account management and system vulnerability management.
• Assist IA by providing access to system logs, instructions for monitoring user accounts, and identifying and responding to security issues/incidents.
• Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Provide backup recovery and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
• Maintain security and integrity controls, formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Database administration experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and/or MongoDB (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Red Hat Preferred)
• Understanding of Agile Methodologies
• Scripting experience (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, etc.)
• IBM Advance Interactive eXecutive (AIX) Unix Operating Systems
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in DevOps/DevSecOps environments
• Understanding of Virtualization using VMWare
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL
