RAPOPORT ACADEMY PUBLIC SCHOOLJob DescriptionJob Title: Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Campus Administrator (Secondary) Dept/School: SecondaryDate Revised: April 14, 2023Primary Purpose: Serve on the Secondary Campus administrative team to lead the strategic development, improvement, and evaluation of Career and Technical Education programs. Coordinate CTE teaching staff and ensure compliance with CTE program and financial requirements through the Texas Education Agency.Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelors degree; Masters degree preferred.Active CTE teaching certificate3 years of teaching experience requiredSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to coach and demonstrate best practices of pedagogy for Career and Technical EducationExperience with State and Federal CTE funding, capital budgeting, and grant management Ability to utilize computer software and interpret computer printout data, especially student data Knowledge of Career and Technical Education policies at the local, state, and federal levelsKnowledge of CTE coding through PEIMS Knowledge of Industry-Based Certification training, testing, and reimbursements through TEAEquity: Rapoport Academy has publically named equity in education a focus of the district. Major Responsibilities and Duties Supervise Career and Technical Education Teaching StaffSupervise CTE teaching and support staff including training, monthly team meetings, overseeing and guiding team meeting planning, providing feedback cycles for teachers/staff, modeling effective feedback, collecting and analyzing data, and providing continuous support.Ensure that CTE teachers have the necessary knowledge, training, and materials to improve participation in programs of study, career pathways after high school, as well as increasing attainment of Industry Based Certifications by students.Serve on the CCMR Committee with the College and Career Counselor to ensure there is alignment between College, Career, and Military Readiness outcomes and CTE for student groups.Collaborate with the Director of TripleWin to ensure alignment between on-campus and TripleWin facilities for student programming and success.Supervise Work-based Learning Coordinator and provide training on CTE requirements, P-TECH pathways, job requirements, monthly meetings, scheduling, IBC completion, CTE Course completion, internships, career exploration and planning, and general support.Supervise Instructors fulfilling high-school teaching assignments for CTE coursework at TripleWin facility.Supervise and coach Out of School Time instructors while teaching CTE accredited courses.Instructional SupportCoordinate with the Dean of Academics and Campus Administrator to facilitate the orientation, development, and success of new teachers, particularly for CTE teachers/staff.Serves as a campus and/or district trainer in professional development initiatives (e.g., Lemov techniques, Restorative Discipline Practices, Positive Behavior Intervention System, Social and Emotional Learning, etc.) including New Teacher Orientation (NTO), August Professional Development, mentor training, appraisal system, staff meetings, and data day, etc.Ensures effective cycles of feedback for CTE teachers and models effective feedback through a targeted caseload of teachers.Present in CTE classrooms and work-based learning sites at least weekly to identify trends and opportunities for celebration and growth.Support the implementation of teacher evaluations including observations, feedback write-up, and feedback meetings.Attend ARD, 504, LPAC, and Student Team meetings as the CTE representative as needed.Resource Management and OperationsPlan and administer the CTE district budget, Federal grants, and other grants to ensure that programs are cost effective and that funds are managed prudently.Maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend disposal and replacement of equipment, as necessary.Manage all CTE purchases in accordance with budgetary, grant limitations, and district policy.Maintain safety standards that conform to state, federal, and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety for CTE related equipment, and CTE labs grades 5-12, including crisis management plans.Ensure that security measures are taken to protect students, staff, supplies, equipment in CTE classrooms, and labs by implementing and conducting safety inspection plans.Supervise subordinate Uattend timeclock approvalsImplement the campus master schedule including CTE curriculum offerings and sections with the support of the Dean of Academics and College Career Counselor as applicable.Create and deliver content as needed for Parent Orientations.Network, Professional Development, and TravelLead out strategic development with the administrative team at Rapoport, as well as be an active member of Career and Technical Educations Communities like Region 12, CTAT, CCRSM, and other communities of practices.Frequent travel to networking events, and school visits to develop best practices strategies further and the Rapoport STEM Brand. Coordinate with the Director of TripleWin to host community partners and schools to Waco and the facilities/programs of Rapoport Academy and Triple Win.Remain up-to-date on IBC exams that are valid including pathways, providers, cost, reimbursement strategies, etc.Monitoring of College, Career, and Military Readiness Serve on the CCMR Committee with College and Career Counselor and Dean of Academics to track and ensure success for all high school students CCMR status.Monitor state requirements for CCMR as it relates to CTE/pathways/IBCs and updates communities through networks and State/Federal legislation. Monitoring of Campus DataCo-lead campus efforts in analyzing and interpreting assessment data with teachers in order to provide data driven instruction for all teachers. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to interpret PEIMS data and supervise the accuracy of PEIMS reports for the department.Work through the CCMR Committee and PEIMS Coordinator to ensure proper coding of students, courses, pathways, endorsements, and completers.Monitor submission data for CCMR outcome measures including outcomes bonus, reimbursements, etc.OtherPromote and advocate for the Districts core values, missison, and District/Campus goals Work and participate with community groups, business leaders, and industry to create, maintain, and sustain partnerships to support CTE programs and to meet the needs of community stakeholders with support from the Director of TripleWin.Foster goodwill through coordination with the Director of TripleWin by creating partnerships and recognition with the business, industry, and community partners and serve as a liaison for the campus.Facilitate parent involvement activities during events as needed.Assist with campus duties and initiatives as neededPerforms other duties as assignedCommunicationEstablish and maintain open communication with campus leadership about any concerns they haveMaintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community membersUse effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearlyWorking Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
