The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring an Ecotourism Manager to join our team at Niagara Falls State Park in Niagara Falls, New York. As a Stewardship Tour Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations, management, and safety of our guests and associates who interact with our tour and rental business.

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Salary: $55400 - $73400 / year

Responsibilities

  • Build our new walking tour business that will also include rentals of bikes, scooters, strollers, and wheelchairs for our guest at the park.
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop all Tour associates.
  • Maintain proper documentation on all aspects of the facility, including equipment, materials, inspections, safety, training, and waivers.
  • Coordinate events for the park through the marketing fund and State Parks for support and awareness.
  • Schedule, monitor, and supervise all participants who purchase a walking tour or rent equipment from us each day.
  • Manage and coordinate all training for tour groups, including periodic detailed equipment inspections.
  • Manager the GreenPath program for this location.
  • Oversee the rental equipment inventory, including ordering and pricing of products.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' environmental or hospitaliry experience required; Bachelor's degree in environmental science, hospitality or similar may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be creative and have leadership traits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, problem solve, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to hike and climb to and from high altitudes.
  • Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
