Position/Title: Electrical Control Panel builder
Position Description: Individual must have a good memory and the ability to apply past work experience while using common sense. Have the ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere. Be able to handle several assignments simultaneously. The position is responsible for assembling custom electrical panels for the automation machinery. Must be able to follow and understand assembly instruction, including drawings, prints, and electrical schematics. Must be able to layout and mount components. Must be able to wire assembled components from simple schematics and/or wire lists. Maintain working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEMA, NEC, UL, IEC. With plenty of growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Custom control panel layout and design
- Perform essential wiring of servo control panel units
- Test servo control panels and assemblies
- Read, understand and apply manufacturers supplied documentation
- Be familiar with and apply all national electrical codes, NFPA guidelines
- Be familiar with and apply all OSHA requirements
- Assemble panels from design to finish
- Able to gauge wire
- Basic soldering skills
- AC/DC power distribution
- Experienced with remote IO operation
- Use basic hand tools to achieve tasks
Experience:
- Knowledge of electrical components (PLCs, servos, variable frequency drives, etc.)
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Control panel wiring experience
- Mechanical abilities
- Able to multi-task and have a high level of organization
- Experience with wire-to-wire processing (point-to-point)
- Able to read blueprints and schematics
- Good decision-making ability
- Good Communication Skills
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience assembling and wiring control panels
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate miscellaneous powered and manual tools
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Basic math and computer skills
- Familiar with basic electrical concepts/theories and the proper use and functions of an electrical multimeter
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics/wiring diagrams and mechanical layouts
- Knowledge of electromechanical and automation equipment such as circuit breakers, relays, lights, switches, motor starters, contractors, etc.
- Rockwell/Allen Bradley product knowledge and experience a plus
- Ability to travel to customer sites for installation & support (infrequent).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $31.00 per hour
