The Financial Analyst position will be responsible for providing financial analyses, recommendations, and support for Colonial Group and will act as a liaison between accounting and operations. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated employee who will be excited to learn about the business and grow with the finance department.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
  • Work with the FP&A Manager in developing and refining processes to improve financial analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with the various divisions at Colonial Group to better understand the business.
  • Collect and analyze financial data turning it into actionable insights.
  • Identify and/or develop key indicators impacting performance and results.
  • Assist with analyzing results and provide insights on variances (month-over-month, year-over-year, actual vs budget).
  • Review and analyze trends (revenues, costs, inventories, etc.).
  • Assist executive team in evaluation of acquisitions and new business ventures by developing financial models of target companies and new opportunities under the guidance of the CFO and Manager of Financial, Planning, and Analysis.
  • Support the continued development of the annual budget.
  • Identify areas to automate reporting and eliminate duplication.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree is required (finance, accounting, business, math, engineering, etc.).
  • Accounting/finance internship experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) is required, and the candidate should be comfortable working with multiple PC software platforms.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are required.
