General Description
The Front Office Coordinator is responsible for providing high quality scheduling and communication to patients and staff. Schedules inpatients and outpatients.
Essential Job Duties
- Schedules appointments for inpatients and outpatients.
- Use Phreesia for registering patients on new accounts
- Use Phreesia for copays or deductibles every visit
- Ensure CPSI accounts are created properly, and authorizations are updated – until new staff are completely trained the auth will be taken care of by Patient access
- Use Accureg for Quality metrics
- Use 8x8 phone recordings for quality of scheduling and patient experience
- Attend all Patient Access Department meetings and Trainings
- Gain Rev cycle approval for any patients unable to pay financial responsibility prior to being seen.
- Prepare Daily deposit and petty cash validation
- Provides intake coordination services to include reviewing forms with clients and families ensuring proper paperwork is completed timely,
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Collect co-pays, ensure patient packets are completed, assist clients with paperwork questions.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, as well as safe work practices.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts.
- Attends required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.
- Attends in-services, training sessions or other educational presentations.
- Upholds the vision/mission statement of the hospital.
- Conducts self in a professional manner with courtesy, respect, for others.
Other Job Duties
- Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient, resident.
- Participates in team discussions and planning.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School graduate. Two years’ experience as an administrative assistant, office coordinator, office assist, office manager, client service or similar position.
- Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources.
- Full knowledge of patients’ rights.
- Exudes professionalism in presentation.
- Able to work on multiple tasks at the same time.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop and pull as needed.
