Important to Know

• This onsite Health Educator role is dedicated to the GatorCare Health Plan. This position is located at University of Florida Health in downtown Jacksonville and is onsite with the customer.
• This position requires the use of a personal vehicle for travel to facilitate and participate in group events and healthcare fairs.

What You Will Be Doing

• Coordinate and facilitate the Better You Strides incentive program, including but not limited to organize annual health screenings, work with the Better You team to complete each employer’s Better You Strides platform, and provide reporting back to the groups
• Work collaboratively with teams within Florida Blue, GatorCare, and employer groups to:
  • Plan and develop health and wellness programs using aggregate data from PHA, claims, predictive modeling, and regional demographics
  • Implement health and wellness programs (including but not limited to team and individual challenges, wellness presentations, one on one or group coaching sessions, email campaigns, etc.) utilizing group’s resources to support group’s risk reduction plan
  • Monitor and evaluate health and wellness programs to determine success towards health and wellness goals

• Provide member referrals to disease management, case management, and/or internal program resources
• Participate in the UF-UF Health Wellness Committee and other relevant committees
• Assist group in completing organizational assessment and implementation of written wellness plan
• Build strong partnerships with internal and external departments and organizations that may provide value added programs or relevant resources
• Maintain confidentiality of employee health related information per corporate policies and procedures

What You Must Have

• Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
• 4+ years related work experience
• At least 1 certification from a national health-related organization such as Wellcoaches®, Intrinsic Coaching, CHES, ACSM or another similar organization.
• 3+ years of experience in the health promotion industry, preferably in health education
• Excellent written communication skills
• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
• Proven basic knowledge of core wellness topics such as physical activity, nutrition, weight and stress
• Proven experience using Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
• Valid Florida driver's license with personal vehicle available for travel
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

• Ability to travel 50% of the time to local group events and/or health fairs with occasional overnight stays

What We Prefer

• Master’s degree in a related field Health promotion
• Active in community and/or worksite health promotion
• Effective facilitation, conflict management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a group/team leadership role as well as an individual contributor
• Proven ability to set clear, actionable objectives and be able to package results and present ideas well

General Physical Demands

• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
• Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
