We are seeking a GIS Specialist to join our applied data and technology team. The selected candidate will work on day-to-day activities with the GIS core business disciplines of environmental remediation, water/wastewater, geology, ecology/wetlands, local government, and energy by providing data compilation, editing, and database management services. They will work under the supervision of a Senior GIS leader to perform technical assignments with clear objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with research and source material collection for mapping projects
  • Import, catalog, and export geographic data from various sources
  • Track and manage GIS projects from start to finish
  • Quality control throughout the various production stages
  • Will oversee GIS data collection efforts including uploading and downloading of GPS (Global Positioning System) collected data
  • Work with Project and Task Managers creating GIS exports for various reports
  • Assist in the management of GPS equipment
  • Demonstrate strong file management and technical skills
  • Communicate effectively with team members across multiple disciplines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Associates degree with geospatial focus or 1-3 years of work experience with GIS
  • Proficient in the use of Esri ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro software for production, editing, and manipulation of GIS data (i.e., raster, shapefiles, and geodatabases)
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
  • Familiarity with 3D Analyst tools
  • Knowledge of different data formats (i.e., Geodatabase, Shapefile, CAD, KMZ)
  • GPS data correction and importing data into GIS
  • Maintaining and updating large datasets
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and multitask
  • High Attention to detail
  • Experience using AutoCAD is ideal
  • Knowledge of cartographic techniques
  • Knowledge of fundamental spatial analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of spatial referencing systems
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
