Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Immediate Placement (Eugene)
Job description
Coburg Road Quarry LLC, a family-owned company that has been in business for over 55 years is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform all aspects of maintenance and repair on our fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.
DIESEL MECHANIC
Performing routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, diesel, gasoline, and small engines
Perform general shop repairs on but not limited to our small 2-stroke equipment, large to small engine repair, along with Fleet Maintenance
Welding skills a plus
General maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on large trucks with diesel engines and heavy equipment. Be able to identify and track additional work beyond the scope
Inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose different systems including but not limited to: ignition systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, transmissions, axles, suspensions, lighting systems, electrical and computer control systems
Keep records of service reports and work orders
Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear
Perform a final operation/safety check before returning machine back into service
Repairs or replaces parts such as overhauls and replaces carburetors, blowers/turbos, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, hydraulics, etc.
At least three (3) years experience as a mechanic in a trucking or heavy equipment environment
Keep shop tools and equipment safe, clean, and organized
Adhere to all company policies and procedures and conduct yourself in a safe and professional manner
Maintain and ensure consistent and accurate work, safety logs, and maintenance reports
Must be able to lift up to #50lbs without assistance, bend and stoop, squat, kneel, reach, grip, etc.
Exposed to dirty conditions and to various weather conditions, rain, sleet, snow, wind, heat and cold
Some Jobs are performed in an outside environment with close proximity to the yard traffic, heavy construction equipment, and hazardous conditions
REQUIRMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Current and valid Oregon Driver's License required
Must have a complete set of mechanic tools, adequate for performing duties
Advanced skills required of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical and basic troubleshooting skills are preferred
Must be able to work alone and with others
This is a full-time position: Monday – Friday approx. 6:30AM - 5:00PM
Compensation / Benefits
Benefits offered after 60 days of your hire date
Medical paid 100% by the company for the employee. Adding family member offered as an employee payroll deduction
Dental and Vision benefits offered as an employee payroll deduction
Five (5) paid holidays / Forty (40) sick hours each year / Paid one (1) week vacation AFTER working one (1) year with our company and two (2) weeks’ vacation AFTER working two (2) years.
Paid every Friday via direct deposit
Time & 1/2 paid after 40 hours worked in one week
Starting hourly wage range $24.00 - $25.50 per hour
Monday – Friday, with possible overtime and case by case Saturdays as needed
