City Floral Garden Center, a 100+ year old Garden Center located in Central Denver, is seeking an experienced individual to assist in the Plant Division of the Landscape Department. Candidate must have a firm commitment to extremely high-quality standards, be well spoken, service minded, and a strong team player, who works well alone or in a crew. They will be expected to receive and carry out instructions in a positive, productive manner and with strict adherence to City Floral’s standards of excellence in both products and services. They will consistently ask questions, be eager and able to learn new skills, have an extremely good eye for detail, and be willing to actively support and dedicate themselves to the unique philosophies and methodologies of the organization. Must be hard-working, reliable, on-time, and have a strong drive towards pride in their work along with a desire to continually improve upon existing skills, knowledge, and productivity, as they apply to City Floral in particular.

This is a full-time, seasonal position. The primary responsibility is to assist the plant procurement division in procuring, management and caring for plant material for Landscape installations. Secondary responsibilities include assistance to other landscaping departments. Duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Pull, order, organize, and stage plant material for landscape installations.
• Water and maintain plants in landscape hold areas.
• Help unload plant material from truck deliveries.
• Pick up plant materials from local nurseries.
• Assist with other duties such as warranty checks, warranty and punch list installations, and winter watering.
• Assist with duties in other landscape departments such as annuals and garden maintenance when necessary.

Skills/Experience:

• Basic tree, shrub, and perennial plant knowledge.
• Prior plant maintenance and greenhouse/nursery work preferred.
• Desire to work in a physical job where you will spend a lot of time outdoors and in different weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. repeatedly over the course of a shift, bend and stand for long period of times.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Possesses a sense of urgency to keep up with peak seasonal demands.
• Detailed orientated, strong organizational skills, self-starter, takes directions well, and adaptable to different environments.
• Able to work weekends when necessary.
• Computer Competence – basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel.
• Driver license and good driving record a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
