Position Title: (IG) Insulated Glass Production Manager

Location: Wixom, MI

Reports To: Logistics Director

Direct Reports: 15 Team Members

Position Overview

To meet our customer’s demand for superior service and delivery, we are seekingan (IG) Insulated Glass Manager who can assume the management role of developing and leading our IG production teams. This position will be responsible for developing efficient work methods and collaborating with our Team Members to increase productivity while maintaining quality and our strong safety record. The (IG) Insulated Glass Manager has the responsibility to make big decisions regarding the successful fabrication of our products as well as the care and development of our teams and Team Members.

Description of the work:

• Work with the management team to develop an Action Plan to improve productivity and efficiency
• Responsible for production and meeting the daily schedule to insure on time delivery while minimizing overtime
• Maintain a high level of quality by ensuring regular inspections of products
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements to solve problems
• Grow, develop, and train the Production Team into top notch leaders and lead operators who see you as a resource for their success

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain or a related field or equivalent
• Must have a progressive Production background
• Prefer glass experience IN FABRICATION which can include Cutting, Tempering, Insulating, Laminating, and/or Decorative
• Must have experience related to manufacturing systems including but not limited to lean methods, quality management and supply chain methods
• 5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior Management, leading and developing Team Members experience
• OSHA Safety certification, Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), and Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS) a plus
• Sharp production focus with a drive for accurate results
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated success in growing and developing a team of operators to meet production requirements
• Fundamental understanding of production rates, movement of product through a multi-process manufacturing environment, and the need to keep on top of manufacturing schedules
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Microsoft Office, ADP Etime, and MAPICS / AS400, ERP System, Fene Vision

Physical Requirements

• Capable of wearing PPE for an entire shift, including; safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes.
• Must be able to lift to 90 pounds at a time and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
• Able to walk, move around for long hours at a time; working on feet.
• Works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to heat, wet and loud noise.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
