Golf Course Laborer
Position Responsibilities:

The Golf Course Laborer assists in golf course maintenance, course set- up, irrigation, while operating golf course equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Participates in daily setup for play
• Rakes bunkers
• Cuts and trims golf course greens, tees, fairways, and roughs
• Assists with watering the roughs and green areas
• Applies growth enhancers and disease inhibitors to greens and tees
• Grades and prepares base, lays sod, and seeds greens, tees, and fairways
• Excavates and backfills ditches and trenches
• Cuts weeds and brush and trims trees
• Helps maintain the cleanliness of all golf course equipment
• Assists with loading and unloading materials used for the golf course
• All other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent

Physical Requirements:

• Continuously lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to see details and use visual acuity in operating equipment
• Frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing
• Repetitive use of hands/arms, pushing or pulling
• Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally climbing, reaching overhead



Environmental Conditions:

• Continuously working in hot/heat conditions outside
• Frequently working in humid conditions outside
• Occasionally working in cold conditions outside
• Frequently working with chemicals
• Frequently working with sharp objects/tools
• Frequently working with heavy machinery
• Occasionally working with soil, fumes, gases, odors, dust.
• Frequently working with vibrations

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Requires the knowledge and safe operation of golf course maintenance equipment
• Previous work on a golf course preferred, but not required
• High-school diploma preferred, but not required

This position reports to the Golf Course Superintendent.
