We are looking for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team .
As a member of the Munters Operations team, you’ll hold an important role in optimizing the manufacturing process to meet customer expectations. The LEAN Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate with factory and corporate personnel to analyze, optimize, and improve the Munters products using LEAN Manufacturing principles. Through these processes, the Munters factory will produce a product that meets customer expectations for quality, reliability, and performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead the adoption of a LEAN culture through manufacturing initiatives and process improvements at the Munters facilities
  • Assist in deploying Munters Production System (MPS) throughout Amesbury, Seabrook and Newton facilities.
  • Work closely with quality team to decrease errors and drive zero defects culture.
  • Work with other LEAN team members to create data collection, management and visualization systems.
  • Work with safety and HR to Implement employee suggestion system throughout facility and create a team to ensure follow-through of employee ideas.
  • Work with safety team to create and maintain 6S audits.
  • Analyze space constraints, material requirements, and current needs to find areas for improvement and make recommendations to company leaders
  • Serve as Plant Level LEAN subject matter expert, overseeing the successful implementation of LEAN manufacturing and process flow improvements necessary to efficiently meet the expansion of production capacity, willing to be hands on.
  • Lead training initiatives at all levels within the plant to drive the adoption and execution of LEAN enterprise concepts and to ensure that machinery operators, managers and product developers are contributing to the common goal
  • Find areas of improvement by developing breakthrough initiatives using Kaizen events, 5S and 6 Sigma tools
  • Create necessary documentation to support projects and maintain accurate records related to proposed changes to the production system including work instructions and BOMs where appropriate
  • Lead workshops and help to develop the strategic design of the plant’s future LEAN state, while developing the skill level of plant personnel to support the future vision
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Capable of working in a team environment and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Uses knowledge of processes and systems to proactively solve problems.
  • Motivated, confident and persistent in meeting project goals.
  • Effective communicator, both externally (customers) and internally (management, colleagues, sales, operations).
  • Knowledge of large equipment manufacturing processes
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree, with 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting. Greenbelt or LEAN practictioner certification
  • Desirable Requirements: Knowledge of large equipment manufacturing including sheet metal, piping, assembly, and HVAC. Experience in Quality engineering and using quality management systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.

  • Daily walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
TRAVEL:
  • Overnight travel based on customer need (less than 20%)
