The Maintenance Technician II is an experienced member of the maintenance team. This role supports the overall organization by performing necessary maintenance functions. Performing work at both the Ankeny and Huxley campus, they enhance the employee experience by ensuring machinery is maintained and improved and the campuses are free of hazards. They collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to support effectiveness, efficiency, and gain new skills.
So, What’s the Gig?
- Performs general and more complex maintenance tasks that ensure facilities are kept in good operating condition and are free of hazards.
- Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing reactive and preventive maintenance on various levels of complex industrial manufacturing equipment to ensure minimal downtime. Complex equipment may include machine shop equipment including lathes, horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers, wood CNC and edge banding equipment, various injection mold machines ranging from 55 to 400 Ton including robotic positioners, distribution conveying equipment and various packaging equipment.
- Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing reactive and preventive maintenance on the electrical, HVAC and structural requirements for the multiple buildings and grounds located in Ankeny and Huxley. These facilities contain various levels of complex hardware and software to support the various campuses. In many cases, you would be working in conjunction with outside vendors to troubleshoot and perform various levels of maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
- Performs basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical repairs.
- Creates purchase order requests for replacement parts and inventory.
- Communicates with and coordinates necessary repairs with operations leadership and maintenance team for timely completion.
- Manages Computerized Maintenance Management System Data (CMMS) entry and set up
- Works with outside vendors to ensure work orders are completed timely and efficiently
- Completes assigned daily work orders for both the Ankeny and Huxley campuses.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized campus at both Ankeny and Huxley locations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of general plant maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment to include general maintenance, trouble shooting, basic electrical knowledge and mechanical (pneumatics & hydraulics) knowledge.
- Experience with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment (thermometers, resin dryers, and hoppers, etc.), CNC mills/lathes, reverse osmosis units, Fanuc Controllers & CNC equipment preferred.
- PLC and Ladder Logic experience and electrical experience up to 480 VAC/320 VDC preferred.
- Ability to diagnose/repair/replace damaged or malfunctioning equipment including chilled water, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and air compressors preferred.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and various maintenance and repair documents.
- Basic understanding of technical manuals, blueprints, and various maintenance and repair documents.
