Job Summary:

Responsible for the planning, directing and organizing Skagit Regional Health’s (SRH) Enterprise Accounting and functions. Supervisor functions include oversight of the Accounts Payable and General Ledger Accountants.

Responsible for the production of accurate, timely and complete periodic internal and external financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of internal controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of Skagit Regional Health’s financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

Essential Functions:

• Provide recruitment, staffing, supervision, leadership and development of personnel. Assures a “safe” environment, empowering and developing staff to their full potential.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of financial statements for Skagit Regional Health, SVH Foundation, and multiple Joint Ventures.
• Responsible for timely and accurate completion of the following: cash and bank reconciliations, accounts payable transactions, fixed asset activity, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses, manual and automated system generated journal entry transactions, joint venture transactions, etc.
• Responsible for the coordination of monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
• Responsible for the accuracy of SRH Balance sheet accounts.
• Responsible for the monthly analysis and accuracy of SRH’s AR reserves.
• Responsible for internal controls and SRH compliance to Washington State RCW’s, WAC’s, SRH policies and/or other applicable healthcare finance regulations.
• Responsible for investment management in collaboration with the Skagit County Treasurer’s Office.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transaction
• Responsible for the outcomes from 3rd party external finance/internal control audits.
• Responsible for preparing the Management Discussion & Analysis memo for annual report.
• Responsible for the production of finance and budget forecast analytics as assigned or required.
• Collaborate with the IT Steering Committee to ensure timely updates to Accounting software systems are completed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited four- (4) year college or university with course works in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, with emphasis in Accounting, verified with a copy of college transcript.
• MBA degree preferred.

Experience/Training:

• Minimum five (5) years of current public and healthcare Finance and data base management experience is required.
• Minimum five (5) years leadership experience in healthcare financial environment is preferred.
• Three (3) years’ experience in mainframe healthcare accounting systems required.
• High proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Access knowledge preferred.
• Experience with Allscripts EPSI Decision Support system, EPIC EHR system and Meditech Finance modules is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and GASB. Experience with governmental accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience in hospital financial data analytics is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $82,905.00 - $124,357.00 per year
