Position Summary:
The Manager of Partnership Development is responsible for discovering and developing sales revenue for the Marlins’ sponsorship programs. The individual in this position will play a key role and will be a valuable contributor in driving partnership development initiatives within this core sector of the Marlins business. Ideal candidates should possess solid partnership development experience and should have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and quotas.

Essential Functions:
  • Research, identify, and develop relationships with prospects/organizations within various vertical industries for team partnership opportunities; Implement development strategies to continually engage prospective partners and brands in the Marlins business.
  • Develop sponsorship programs, conduct sales meetings and presentations on a regular basis.
  • Negotiate and prepare pitch and contract terms with input from leadership, finance, legal and other applicable internal departments to ensure a cohesive and reliable approach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and leaders to drive and execute partnership programs and campaigns.
  • Provide consistent reporting and communication of various sales related metrics including pipeline account status, revenue targets, and relevant sponsor interactions to build equity in the role.
  • Achieve sponsorship sales revenue goals as assigned and maximize the sale of fully integrated sponsorships in major categories.
  • Contribute to and achieve corporate and department management and/or administration objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications& Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate, influence and cultivate relationships within a multitude of business environments including sports and entertainment, corporate, non-profit, education, government, and community.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, analytical and operational skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of overachieving sales targets and quotas in a competitive sales environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as applicable.
  • Knowledge and passion for sports, and Major League Baseball.

Education & Experience Guidelines:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus on business management, sports management, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in sponsorship sales, partnership management, media sales, or a related role; sports and entertainment industry is preferred but not required.
