The Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Proposal Manager 1 to join our growing team of business professionals. The Primary location for this position is Northridge, CA.
The selected candidate will work with teams creating compliant, compelling technical proposals that result in winning new business with U.S. DoD customers.
Responsibilities:
Develops and executes proposal plans, estimates resources (people, schedule, and budget), analyzes RFPs, creates outlines and compliance matrices.
Engages with Capture Manager to craft proposal strategy and develop compelling messaging that addresses the strengths of the Northrop Grumman offering.
Creates compliant, compelling proposals that clearly and succinctly address the RFP requirements.
Ensures on-time delivery of proposals and document lessons learned to improve processes.
Performs volume lead and writing assignments in support of other proposal managers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have one of the following: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of specific experience in proposal management experience with Air Force, Army or Navy proposals.
- Must have experience leading proposals with values greater than $20 million.
- Experience leading proposal volumes and/or performing as a writer on proposals.
- Experience developing BOE's for management and technical work.
- Proficiency with MS Project, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Must be willing to travel as needed, although travel is expected to be infrequent.
- Must be able to work on-site in Northridge, CA.
- Must have an active secret clearance with investigation within 5 years or enrolled in continuous evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in SharePoint.
Experience with agile processes and tools.
Excellent skills in critical thinking, writing, editing, visual element planning, and BOE development.
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills in creating successful proposals targeted to U.S. Federal and/or DoD customers.
