POSITION OVERVIEW

As our Mechanical Assembler, this individual will report to our Production Manager and will have overall responsibility for making and inspecting sub-assemblies and final assemblies of all roller and sliding guides in a Lean Manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Make sub-assemblies and final assemblies of all roller and sliding guides per the standard work instructions, using hand and portable power tools. Inspect finished goods.

· Review material quantities and supplies on hand to ensure smooth operation of daily assembly duties. Report obvious shortages or discrepancies to supervisor and/or Materials Control Department.

· Maintain sufficient quantities of inventory to meet customer demands.

· Apply Lean principles in performance of job duties. Recognize and recommend process improvements to eliminate wastes in the work area.

· Serve as back-up to Packer and Material Handler positions as needed.

· Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICIATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Background and Skills Required:

· H.S. Diploma or equivalent

· Strong mechanical aptitude

· Ability to use hand and power tools

· Ability to load and unload metal parts weighing up to 35 -50 lbs. for up to 10 hrs./day

· Ability to stand for up to 10 hrs.

· Ability to work overtime and/or alternative shift as required

Additional Background and Skills Preferred:

· 2 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
