Mental Health Professional - Houston & Butts County Jail (part time)

Master's Degree in counseling, social work or behavioral health required. Must have obtained or seeking licensure.* With over 25 years of correctional experience, GENESYS Health Alliance provides our facilities with quality inmate healthcare. GENESYS Health Alliance is currently serving multiple counties in Georgia and Florida with nursing, physician, mental health, dental, and pharmacy care. Job Description This position is a mental health position that will be evaluating and providing mental health services to the inmate population. This person should be able to diffuse situations and report information appropriately to other GENESYS HEALTH providers, staff members, corporate staff, or facility administration. There is an expectation that this individual maintains professional knowledge of GENESYS HEALTH policy and procedures. The person filling this position is expected to be an example for other staff members in behavior, attitude, and skills. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities Normal hearing and vision are required. Physical abilities involving standing for long periods of time, stooping, bending, and lifting (some overhead areas). Normal ability to walk through the facility and respond to medical emergencies with approximately 10-15 lbs of equipment is required. Facility movement to areas within the buildings. Some areas with low lighting, narrow spacing, and noisy conditions. Education/Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited school & currently licensed without disciplinary sanctions or seeking licensure post graduate degree.
• One year of Mental Health experience preferred; Correctional experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong organizational abilities
• Knowledge in a range of counseling and therapeutic techniques
• Ability to manage multiple issues or deadlines in stressful situations with tact and professionalism
• Excellent communication skills; Ability to concisely communicate situations or needs effectively with sites and GENESYS HEALTH Corporate Managers
• Computer proficiency required - email, document exchange, excel, etc.
• Current certification in basic life support including AED/First Aid preferred (can be obtained through employment)
• Clear security background and satisfactory motor vehicle report required
