POSITION: Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Brandeis Marin, a K-8 Jewish Day School in San Rafael, CA, is seeking a Middle School Mathematics Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Qualified candidates should be inspired by our mission and eager to assume a variety of responsibilities.
We are looking for a math teacher to deliver a strong Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry curriculum to students in grades 5-8 . Requirements of the position are as follows:
- Plan and teach courses using project-based learning and online curricula (ie TenMarks, IXL, MARS Investigations) and technology (ie.Desmos).
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with learning needs and gifted students.
- Develop, enhance, and document curriculum, while ensuring continued coordination and alignment with the Brandeis Marin Middle School program.
- Connect math curricula to other subject areas in a broad multidisciplinary approach.
- As needed, serve as a student advisor, provide scheduled supervision of students, participate in middle school outdoor ed and field trips, and engage in ongoing professional development.
Ideal Qualifications and Strengths :
- Five years teaching or associated experience
- BA and single-subject mathematics teaching credential
- Demonstrated contributions to a positive school environment
- Experience in math program/project development and assessment
- Experience working with data to improve student-learning outcomes
- Commitment to project-based learning and interdisciplinary education
- Experience with technology, including online resources (IXL, TenMarks, Schoology, Desmos, and Google Apps for education)
- Familiarity with common core mathematics for middle school
- Ability to support students in preparation for competitive high school mathematics
- Proven record of successful teaching and classroom management
- Proven ability to work with other teachers and administration
- Familiarity/comfort with Jewish values, culture and education
