JOB DESCRIPTION
MUSIC COORDINATOR
EFF. JANUARY 1, 2023

This position provides support to the First Christian Church Music program to enhance the worship experience of the congregation.

Supervisor: FCC Co-Pastors
Responsible to: FCC Personnel Committee

Description of Duties:
● Directs the Chancel Adult Choir and provides music and musical leadership at regular Sunday worship and at other scheduled services.
● Serves as piano accompanist during Sunday worship services and other scheduled services, as needed.
● Provides coordination and support of all musical teams, small groups, choirs and volunteers who assist with musical groups.
● Attends weekly planning meetings for Sunday worship and other special planning meetings as determined by the co-pastors. Schedules any special music for above services in cooperation with the Co-Pastors.

● Advises on the compensation of guest musicians.
● Maintains and makes purchases for the music library in an orderly and organized manner within the provision of the FCC Music Budget.
● Is responsible for and coordinates closely with the music team on musical presentations during the summer months

Time Requirements
This position is part time,12-15 hours per week, September through June.

Qualifications
● Possess excellent knowledge of Christian music (both classical, i.e., ‘traditional’, and contemporary).
● Has experience in directing choral music with volunteer choirs.
● Ability to play the piano proficiently from printed music as well as from word-sheets with chords.
● Ability to plan ahead and coordinate music with other staff members to carry out themes for worship.

Salary
This position is paid as a monthly stipend and is determined by qualifications and experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
