• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb up and down ladders and work in tight spaces
• Ability to push, pull, lift, carry and transport materials. To walk, stand, stoop and crouch throughout the shift.

PCHI OVERVIEW

Job Overview

The Material Handler supplies raw materials feeding into the production process and loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. The Material Handler blends off color scrap as required, and sets concentrate percentages in blenders per recipe.

• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Retrieves scrap from warehouse.
• Weighs up color concentrate and scrap before and after use.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or power equipment.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or pumps into silos or weigh blenders.
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or gaylords.
• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together
• Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to QC laboratory for analysis.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Makes simple adjustments or repairs such as blender percentages or vacuum loader issues.
• Shovels loose materials such as plastics, or rejected product, into machine hoppers or into grinders.
• Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly within safety standards.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor
