We are seeking a strong professional like you to join the North American Operational Excellence Consulting team. In this role, you will lead and facilitate impactful changes within our operating sites to improve competitiveness in how we safely deliver quality products to our customers.

As an Internal Consultant, you create chemistry by…

  • Serving as the Regional consultant, your knowledge of chemical manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and performance management KPIs, such as Asset Effectiveness, will enable you to make data-driven decisions and recommendations to optimize our internal clients’ operational processes.
  • Relying on your ability to lead without authority and influence others for cultural transformation, you will facilitate Continuous Improvement initiatives and workshops that support efficiency and effectiveness improvements across all operations. Facilitation skills are a key attribute in the role.
  • Playing a leadership role on projects and initiatives in your areas of expertise, you will be accountable for your own work, projects and future objectives (level of work is usually highly visible to group's senior management or group leadership).
  • Demonstrating your entrepreneurial drive, you will acquire new improvement projects to assure internal client expectations are understood, managed, and met on time, on scope and within budget.
  • Collaborating within the GBM team, you will demonstrate your knowledge of Lean concepts (continuous improvement, waste elimination, SMED, 5S, visual management, process mapping, production leveling, one-piece flow, mistake-proofing, and respect for people). You will facilitate cross-functional improvement events (Kaizen, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) to eliminate waste and improve safety, efficiency, cost, and quality of production processes. Experience with Technical Process Optimization (TPO) is an attribute.
  • Knowledge of Hoshin Kanri strategy deployment, plant and site development, organizational design, plant optimization, and Six Sigma methodologies/belt certification is highly desirable.
  • Successfully engaging with others, you will contribute to the development of communities inside or outside of the organization (e.g. peer groups, Centers of Expertise, initiatives).
  • Your effective interpersonal and communication skills will serve you well as you lead regular project updates of cross-functional Continuous Improvement teams to steer cross-functional improvement opportunities.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

  • Leveraging your education in Engineering, Chemistry, or other related field with transferrable knowledge and your experience in chemical process industry manufacturing, you will provide value through consulting expertise to improve competitiveness.
  • Building upon your experience level of 10+ years within a manufacturing organization will serve you well in providing consultancy across manufacturing.

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $157,400 - $196,700. Actual pay will be determine based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
