Primary Responsibilities
Tilcon Connecticut has an opening for an Aggregate Plant Operator. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of an automated aggregate crushing plant.
Principal Accountabilities
Overseeing and coordinating the safe dumping of material into the plant.- Provide high quality customer service.
- Compliance with company safety standards and related paperwork.
- Continually monitor and adjust plant controls as needed.
- Ability to operate a secondary rock breaker when required.
- Repair and maintenance of plant components.
- Compliance and monitoring of site environmental requirements.
Qualifications
Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities.
Minimum:
Safe operations and maintenance of plant- 5 Years Plant Operator experience
- Comprehensive operational knowledge of a front-end loader and haul truck.
- Thorough understanding and compliance with company safety policies.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Mechanical competence.
- Capacity to work well with customers, management, and fellow employees.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Capability to complete required paperwork in a timely fashion.
Desired:
Construction, welding and torch cutting experience helpful
Personal Protective Equipment
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA, MSHA, and state agencies. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, face shield, welding helmet, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, respirator, air monitor, reflective safety vest.
