Ingredion is hiring an Process Engineer recently graduted from a chemical or mechanical engineering bachelors, to monitor process conditions and provide troubleshooting and technical support to assist in meeting safety, quality, production, and cost goals. Identify and implement process improvements including capital projects/permits from conception to start-up.

Core Responsibilities:

· Providing technical support to maintenance and operations groups including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and maintenance of historical data to identify, monitor and control key operating parameters.

· Leading projects up to $300K and directing project contractors and consultants as necessary.

· Implementing capital permits, projects, and engineering studies as assigned to support plant goals. Managing projects in compliance with Ingredion’s ethics, safety, and engineering standards.

· Providing technical support to the plant safety and quality professional on facility safety initiatives when designing and/or redesigning work processes to eliminate workplace injuries, illnesses and food safety risks.

· Identifying, developing, and initiating capital projects with an implementation date of one to two years in duration.

· Keeping current in discipline, assess new technologies and ideas, develop, evaluate, and seek approval for new concepts to improve the efficiency and the capability of the process.

· Conducting process training and ensures documentation is up to date when projects are complete.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and prepare concisely written reports.

· Ability to work effectively in a team environment, build consensus, and foster relationships at multiple organization levels and across different organizational functions.

· Demonstrated degree of sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative, and innovation in handling complex technical assignments, with minimal supervision.

· Provide support in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have:

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.

· Knowledge on unitary operations and processes (Drying, Filtration, Heat transfer etc.)

· Knowledge and understanding of potato or corn wet milling process, and the systems and principles involved in its operation a plus.

· Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Improvement tools, and the principles involved (RCA, 5 Why’s, FMA, Six sigma)

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement action plans and follow-up to ensure effective results.

· Ability to successfully implement capital projects/permits and perform engineering functions in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year
