The Special Project Manager is focused on operational excellence and the highest level of quality throughout the Connected Aviation Solution (CAS) organization and must be able to effectively manage multiple projects resulting in successful outcomes. The candidate must lead the organization in establishing best practices across the customer programs organization. This role will also be responsible for leading Continuous Improvement/CORE/Lean events, driving out process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvements, work with the business to align processes with business requirements and assist in establishing an effective monitoring and measurement system for continuous improvement. Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. Regardless of your role type, collaboration and innovation are critical to our business and all employees will have access to digital tools so they can work with colleagues around the world – and access to Collins sites when their work requires in-person meetings. Responsibilities • Manage multiple projects using project management best practices • Provide updates on status of projects and keep projects on track • Ability to prepare and lead management review meetings • Conduct lean events to drive out efficiencies and cost savings • Perform root cause analysis and facilitate corrective actions • Occasionally, travel to the Annapolis location for events Basic Qualifications: • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position. . • Project Management experience and/or Project Management tools such as MS Project Preferred Qualifications: • Proven history of leadership traits to motivate, communicate and provide feedback. • A passion for service improvement and customer success. • Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma or Core tools to drive process improvements. • Experience with root cause analysis and process improvements • Ability to collaborate and ability to work across different organizational groups. • Excellent communication skills and effective at communicating across all levels of the organization • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $48,784.54 - $140,756.75 per year
