Summary of Duties:
The Project Manager works closely with the AgAID Institute Director on all organizational elements of the institute, ensuring smooth functioning of the institute across all sites. They will manage and coordinate the day-to-day administration of this program including developing and implementing program policies/procedures, monitor progress towards Institute goals, working with finance personnel to ensure operations are within budget, coordinating staff and resources, optimizing and improving processes, project reporting, coordinating with evaluators and advisory boards, and keeping stakeholders informed. The incumbent in this position regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion while managing multiple moving project targets simultaneously and has the delegated authority to make commitments affecting AgAID operations.
Specific duties will include coordination and editing of quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring communication and collaboration across a large multidisciplinary team and with external stakeholders, providing grant administration, providing event organization, and aiding the Institute Director and the rest of the leadership team in critical planning activities that define the strategic directions and management of the Institute.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.).
- May require travel outside the Pullman area.
- Strong organizational skills and experience coordinating and implementing programs, events, and services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a STEM field or management or a Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
- General experience in a wide range of disciplines; computer science, mathematics, agriculture, engineering, environmental sciences, business, administration, grants management.
- Familiarity with the Federal Uniform Guidance, the Washington Administrative Code, and the WSU BPPM, SPPM and Executive Policy Manual.
- Certified Project Management Professional. (PMP)
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of project management software and apps, and collaborative tools.
- Ability to provide supportive leadership, clear communication in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience in business operations and analysis, which may include project management, process improvement, budget preparation, reporting, etc.

Monthly Salary:
$4,942.10 - $7,569.55 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. Workload: Approximately 80% of the workload for this position is support of the AgAID Project. The remaining 20% may include support from other related and ongoing projects on campus. Examples include projects housed at the Washington State Water Research Center and WSU Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources. Any significant changes in expectations will be communicated to the project manager in writing.
Project End Date:
This is a project position expected to end on August 31, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
