The Ideal Residential Counselor will be responsible for:
- supervision of clients; administration of the program rules and level system
- facilitation of a therapeutic, positive and safe milieu; supportive listening to clients individually and in group settings
COMPENSATION: High school or equivalent: $14.19 /hr based on relevant experience and education
- Bachelor's degree: $17.02 / hr based on relevant experience and education
- A shift differential of 5% will be applied for 2nd shift and 10% for 3rd shift.
Scheduling:
Gateway is a 24/7 365 program that requires weekends, holidays, evening, and overnight shifts.
Travel: This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
QUALIFICATIONS - Gateway Residential Counselor
Education / Skills:
- A High School Diploma is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity.
- Effective communication skills, strong time management, and organizational skills are necessary to manage day to day job responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation.
Physical:
- Valid driver's license with an F endorsement.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching including the ability to go down on one's knees.
