Our team handles the full scope of fulfillment from HOA applications, engineering, permitting, installation and interconnection. Green Light Solar partners with sales organizations big and small, national and local, to bring the best quality installations you will find across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. This position will be located in the Central Texas region. From Jarrell - San Antonio and Austin - New Braunfels.

The Journeyman Electrician will oversee the electrical portions of the installation including wiring, grounding, interconnection, as well as permitting, inspections (rough & final city electrical inspections) and utility witness tests, as needed. You will maintain a state certification in the field of Electrical Journeyman or higher. You can expect to install and direct the work of all mechanical portions of solar electric installations relating to array layouts, array racking and module installation - either roof- or ground-mounted.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customers’ residential properties
• Assist the Lead Installer with the installation of racking, modules, inverter, combiner boxes, grounding, etc.
• Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes;
• Review system and interconnection design for adherence to Electrical Code (NEC)
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
• Work with the roof installation team and homeowners to fulfill any necessary system upgrades or repairs to support our solar equipment.
• Attend electrical inspections as needed on behalf of the company
• Help to ensure all necessary electrical materials and tools arrive to the job site
• Assist with completion of installation reports and commissioning reports, as needed
• Perform system commissioning and function checks

REQUIREMENTS:

• Journeyman Electrician license
• Comprehensive understanding of the NEC as it relates to the installation of solar electric systems
• Competence in design of PV systems including electrical wire sizing, conduit sizing, installation methods, conduit bending, etc.
• Ability to produce significant output with minimal waste

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• OSHA 10 hour (preferred)
• NABCEP certification (preferred)
• Comfortably able to lift 40lbs, climb ladders, work with tools, work in crawl spaces, and work on high rooftops (as needed) in varying hot and cold temperatures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
