Room Attendant

Job Description
The Room Attendant is an integral part of the Stanton House team. They are responsible for performing cleaning duties to keep the environment neat and pleasant. They maintain cleanliness in line with management requirements. Other than ensuring clean and comfortable surroundings, they also replenish toilet supplies, clean and store equipment. In addition, they must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean, dust, polish, and vacuum to make sure guest’s rooms meet hotel standards.
  • Checks and secures the rooms.
  • Replenish amenities according to the operational standards.
  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests, such as iron and ironing boards.
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g., steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required.
  • Cleans guest bathroom/bedroom/floor corridor.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of their work area.
  • Responsible for hotel property and supplies in the work area.
  • Attends to guest calls, guest requests / guest complaints in the area assigned.
  • Authorized to enter in guestrooms for cleaning and providing turndown services as per requirement.
  • Responsible for following the standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances and their operations and proper use of cleaning agents.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management and multitasking skills.
  • Physical strength and stamina to work extended periods.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and as an individual.
  • Integrity to safeguard confidential information
  • Demeanor to remain calm in tense or stressful situations

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

  • One year or more of Previous hotel-related experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Walk, stand, bend, lift, sit, and reach.
  • Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 100 pounds.
  • Use of staircase multiple times through shift.
  • Must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language. Must speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace. Spanish is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 per hour

Shift:

  • Day shift

Safety protocols and procedures in place to promote and enforce a safe work environment include but not limited to implementing temperature checks, requirement of use of facial coverings, sanitization, and adhering to social distancing guidelines.
