We're looking to expand our team of seasonal tax preparers for the upcoming tax filing season (late Jan through mid April). The seasonal tax preparer will work closely with clients to gather necessary documentation and information, review or collaborate with teammates to solve complex tax matters, and accurately complete and file clients' Individual 1040 tax returns using Drake Tax Software.

The seasonal tax preparer will be responsible for ensuring that all tax returns are completed accurately and in a timely manner, and will be available to answer clients' questions and provide guidance on tax-related matters. This person will also be responsible for maintaining confidentiality and protecting clients' personal and financial information.

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3 years experience with tax preparation and filing, as well as a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations. Meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential.

Schedule & workload:

• Must commit at least 15 hrs/week during tax filing season, including min 5-6 hrs/wk in-office, and the option to work the remainder remotely
• Complete and file at least 150 individual 1040 tax returns by the April filing deadline

Key responsibilities:

• Tax preparation and filing during the busy tax season (Individual 1040 Returns)
• Work closely with clients to gather necessary documentation and information
• Use Drake Tax software to accurately complete tax returns
• Ensure that all tax returns are completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Answer clients' questions and provide guidance on tax-related matters
• Maintain confidentiality and protect clients' personal and financial information

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience preparing at least 50 individual tax returns/yr
• Thorough understanding of Federal and MA income tax laws and regulations
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Active PTIN required
• CPA, EA or other relevant designation preferred

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $25.28 - $28.11 per hour
