We are now accepting applications for our Principal position at Rimrock Jr./Sr. High School. Located in SW Idaho, we are one hour south of Boise and 30 minutes from Mountain Home. While some teachers choose to live locally, many commute from the Treasure Valley due to our 4 day school week and our positive climate.Please read and understand our BGV Administrator Handbook to gain an understanding of our schools culture, educational philosophy, and what were looking for in our leaders - this handbook is an integral part of our hiring process. In the last 7 years, BGV has worked hard to re-define itself with a strong, deliberate focus on the culture and climate of our schools. This has led to a dedicated staff and significant gains in student achievement throughout our District, which we will continue to improve upon in the coming years. We hire educators eager to serve the students and families of Oreana, Grand View, and Bruneau. We expect our school leaders to hold our students, our educators and themselves accountable to high levels of student achievement. Reports toSuperintendent ResponsibilitiesFirst and foremost, we expect our Principals to serve as educational leaders, conducting frequent walk-through visits to classrooms, conversing with teachers about best practice, offering classroom supports and meeting 1:1 with teachers on a regular schedule. We use Justin Baeder's 'Now Were Talking! 21 Days to High-Performance Instructional Leadership' model as our way of supporting teachers and providing leadership guidance in the classroom.
  • Use Greenleaf's (1998) Servant as Leader model to support school staff and district personnel in their professional growth and development
  • Our Principals are well-versed in the use of formative assessment to guide effective classroom instruction
  • Oversee monthly formative assessment: Report monthly student achievement growth during school board meetings
  • Our educational leaders are well-versed in the PLC model, and lead our building-level PLC and RtI discussions.
  • Our educational leaders lead our professional development (once per month), as part of our Executive Leadership Team
  • Oversee and address student discipline as needed
  • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team of BGV
  • Annually update and implement student handbooks and procedures for expected student conduct and practice
  • Communicate weekly with the Athletics Director, and assist in the supervision of BGV athletics programs
  • Regularly attend Rimrock athletic events, to provide administrative support and interaction with community patrons
  • Oversee athletic eligibility, in conjunction with the Athletics Director, in accordance with BGV policy
  • Ensure teacher accountability in timely grading and weekly uploads/revisions to PowerSchool grades
  • Actively pursue cases of truancy, excessive absences, and tardiness
  • Attend IEP, 504, etc. meetings for Rimrock students as needed
  • Keep records of any disciplinary action and perform follow-up communication with students parents, teachers, and other administrators as needed
  • Enforce suspensions and expulsion recommendations as needed and appropriate
  • Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Idaho Teaching ProfessionalThis position may be combined with other administrative duties & roles, based on the strengths of the candidate and needs of the District.Willful disregard or incompetent ability to perform the duties as outlined in this job description and in the adopted policies of the district may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Overview of the Bruneau - Grand View District :BGV operates 2 elementary schools and one Jr./Sr. High. The current elementary school in Bruneau was built in 1958. The elementary in Grand View was also built in 1958 and was very similar in design to the facility in Bruneau. In 1973 a bond was passed to build the present Rimrock Jr./Sr. High School on a 40-acre site midway between Grand View and Bruneau. Rimrock opened in 1976. The Bruneau-Grand View Joint School District #365 now serves roughly 300 students from Elmore & Owhyee county. Though our student population is small, were one of the largest geographic districts in the state at 5,725 square miles. The parents of our students support our ranching & agricultural-based economy; many are working in the industry in some form. Our largest company-based employers include Simplot, Idaho Power, BLM and the school district. Terms of Employment

    Eleven (11) month annual contract.
