CFO Hub is looking for a Full-time Senior Accountant/ Accounting manager for a client, this position is not with CFO Hub.
A leading insurance company in the industry, specializing in providing life insurance planning for high-net-worth clients, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant/ Accounting Manager to join their growing team.
As part of the Finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting and finance functions, including the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures, maintaining an appropriate system of internal controls, managing cash flow, overseeing payroll, and ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting policies.
Additionally, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in positioning the Company for strategic acquisitions and joint venture opportunities, ensuring continued growth and success.
This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the COO and Controller to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close; ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports showing financial results by business area and comparison to plan. Explanation of key variances. Preparation of quarterly financial statements and distribution to management, investors, and banks.
- Play a key role in the coordination of the annual Financial Statement Audit with outside auditors to provide information and schedules in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage the preparation and submission of various state regulatory reports as required.
- Build and maintain a strong functional team. Ensure that the accounting department is operating effectively by improving processes and systems where necessary, cross-training staff to mitigate dependencies and developing team members.
- Manage Internal Control policies and compliance, as well as, ensuring that accounting policies are in accordance with GAAP; periodically review and improve existing control processes to ensure no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses
- Perform daily monitoring, reporting and maintenance of the Company’s cash management system including forecasts of cash position
- Work closely with the COO to manage all aspects of AR / AP related to the firm’s revenue streams, including weekly commission reconciliation duties
- Oversee the accounting activities of the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and cash management.
- Coordinate with external tax accountant with the review of federal, state, and local income tax returns
- Play a key role in the transition of the Company’s general ledger from QuickBooks desktop to an online accounting system
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting or Finance is required.
- A minimum of 5 years financial services industry and accounting experience.
- CPA and/or CMA is a plus.
- Knowledge of loan accounting. Experience with securitization accounting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems.
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance.
- Exceptional business acumen
- Conversion of Accounting Softwares

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
