JOB DUTIES:
Position Summary
Under general supervision of the Deputy Chief Facilities Officer/Assistant Director, this position is responsible for storage and distribution of goods/packages/mail and the delivery of such goods/packages/mail for the campus. In addition, this position will support and assist in the operational areas of Central Stores and the overall administrative duties for Facility Services. This position will perform work independently, only referring matters to the supervisor for clarification.
This position works with students both as a service to campus and as an employer. This position supports the need to develop the capacity to analyze and understand global and intercultural issues. This position supports the development of social and emotional skills, as well as values like respect, self-confidence and a sense of belonging, are of the utmost importance to create opportunities for all and advance a shared respect for human dignity. This position is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Hours may vary as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Record keeping and file management skills to organize, document, and retrieve data in a variety of methods.
- Advanced-level competency Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including tact, diplomacy and flexibility
- Ability to communicate in a variety of mediums: face to face, telephone, formal reports, technical papers, executive summaries, email, oral presentations, written “Report of Findings”, articles and papers, annual reports, computer aided presentations, and through participation in committees and meetings
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
- Meet the minimum requirements to drive on state/university business.
- Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Facilities Operations
- Experience working with municipalities, state, or UW-Systems entities.

This is an on-going University Staff position, non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is required to serve a six-month probation period.
