POSITION: Short Notice Courier/Transporter

SALARY: $15.74/hr

REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing

LOCATION: Convalescent Center; Nespelem, Washington

Basic Functions: Incumbent is responsible for transporting residents to and from provider appointments, and activity outings. Will also answer phones, schedule resident appointments, maintain the transport calendar, and other clerical ward clerk duties when not transporting residents.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

  • Nursing Assistant experience preferred but not required
  • Requires a valid Washington State Drivers License and must be eligible for the Tribes' vehicle insurance.
  • Requires possession of and maintaining a CPR certification, applicant may obtain CPR certification upon hire.
  • Requires full Covid-19 vaccination prior to hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires ability to read, write, and understand the English Language
  • Requires ability to relate clearly and concisely information concerning a residents condition.
  • Requires ability to make independent decisions.
  • Requires ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry said weight a minimum of 50 feet.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
