Social Media Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Specialist at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.

This entry-level position will be responsible for growing our current Social Media presence using strong organic content and videos that deliver an accurate representation of company culture and brand recognition.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create daily/weekly/monthly social media content for all platforms to include, but not limited to, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. This includes scheduling and publishing on all platforms.
• Respond to and monitor comments, messages and overall engagement on all social media posts among all platforms.
• Execute current company Social Media Policies.
• Analyze performance, establish performance goals and execute strategies accordingly.
• Assist with social media contests, internal giveaways and other company messaging to be communicated through social media platforms.
• Prepare weekly or monthly analytic reports for all social media platforms, rating content and engagement based on performance levels.
• Assist with content for and maintaining company website.
• Promote the J & M brand through consistent and accurate social media & video content that aligns with company communications goals.
• Coordinate, script, plan, direct, film, edit and produce video content for social media platforms as well as various company affiliate requirements.
• Work with various departments at the corporate office as well as those at our terminal locations throughout the Southeast.
• Other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, media studies or any related field. Experience may compensate for education requirement.
• Understanding of marketing and social media best practices
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong production and related editing skills is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail
• Takes direction well
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Occasional overnight travel will be required.

Skills:

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Must be able to work in a team environment and alone
• Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
• The ability to multitask, strong organizational skills and communicate effectively
• Video production and editing skills is a plus
• Must handle feedback, deadlines and sense of urgency well
• A good listener who can interpret the company needs and operations and produce results

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
