Job Description

Spaulding High School is seeking an innovative high school social studies teacher(s) beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in all areas of social studies, history, and government, especially Civics, US History, World History. Courses could also potentially include: Financial Literacy, Psychology, Sociology or AP Government.

We are looking for a social studies teacher who can help all students meet standards through creating and using engaging hands-on/minds-on curriculum, as well as student-centered instruction and assessment practices. Knowledge or experience with intervention and differentiation strategies as well as trauma informed practices is preferred.

A strong working knowledge of proficiency based curriculum design, instruction and grading and a willingness to collaborate with department and other colleagues is essential.

Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Vermont teaching license in secondary social studies or history (grades 7 - 12).
