    Additional Information:

    • Current non-probationary teachers will be given first consideration
    • T.O.S.A. positions are NOT subject to the Voluntary Transfer process. Selected candidates will be interviewed.
    • This is a grant funded position. The term of this position to To Be Determined; however, it is anticipted to be for a five year period and will be reviewed annually.

    The School Based Mental Health Scholars Program Lead assists the Director of Student Services in directing and coordinating the grow your own social work program and with providing training on mental health needs across the district.

    JOB SUMMARY:
    • Primary responsibility for the coordination of the scholars of School-Based Mental Health Scholars including regular communication with building principals and community partners.
    • Assists with recruitment, selection and onboarding of interns in the Mental Health Scholars Program.
    • Provides supervision of social work student interns with placements at RPS including weekly individual and/or group supervision, individual connections with students and school-based task supervisors.
    • Liaisons with Winona State University and other parties
    • Provide oversight of grants funding the program, including grant reporting, budget allocations, and communication with funding sources
    • Identifies and communicates present levels of performance, future needs, and areas of improvement of Student Service programs in order to develop and implement program improvements and to address student, parent, and staff concerns.
    • Provides professional development to mental health scholars and within the social work department
    • Seeks funding to support mental health district initiatives including grant writing and community support.
    • Performs related duties as apparent or assigned by the Director of Student Services.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master’s degree in Social Work
    • Current Minnesota Social Work license and the Board of Social Work required.
    • Three years of experience post MSW graduation
    • Experience providing clinical supervision preferred
    • Experience providing social work services in schools
    • Excellent writing, speaking, and listening skills, along with strong interpersonal skills in communicating with staff, students, and community.
    • Strong organizational skills to lead large projects
    • Effective leadership skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents/guardians, and community.
    • Successful experience in working with marginalized communities
    • Successful experience in facilitating educational change.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
    • Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
    • Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
