TMS Technician

Manuel Astruc, M.D. & Associates, located in Saratoga Springs, NY, is a psychiatry practice located in Saratoga Springs s. The practice is seeking a full-time qualified college graduate to assist with a non-invasive state-of-the-art treatment that is FDA approved for Major Depression called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). A TMS Technician must interact with patients in a professional, confident, and empathic manner. TMS Technicians will administer TMS treatments under the supervision of a physician. The TMS technician will collaborate with our psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners and office staff.

Requirements for the TMS Technician:

• Bachelor's or associate degree (Recommended)
• CPR Certified (Recommended)
• Become a Certified TMS Operator (provided by Manuel Astruc, M.D. & Associates)
• Learn our EMR system to input and access patient files and documents
• Excellent interpersonal skills. A positive, nonjudgmental, unbiased demeanor is critical

Responsibilities for the TMS Technician:

• Set up the TMS medical device to ensure patient comfort, coil contact, and treatment accuracy
• Scheduling appointments
• Recording notes on the patient for each session
• Tracking authorizations for visits
• Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions
• Closely monitor patients during TMS treatments
• Manage rare complications per safety protocols
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively
• Ability to ensure patient safety and comfort, as well as answering questions
• Must be punctual and stay on schedule, keeping patients to their scheduled appointments is essential
• Complete patient progress notes for each treatment administered
• Exceptional communication, as well as interpersonal skills to guide and reassure patients
• Maintain patient confidentiality and strict adherence to HIPAA laws and regulations
• Ability to sustain professional appearance and demeanor, and interact well with patients in a mental health setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
