The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Transportation Supervisor, Announcement #2308. This is a full-time position located in the Texarkana, Texas, office. This position oversees all dispatch operations. Coordinates dispatchers for efficient and timely entry of all operations data. Responsible for managing dispatch accountability related to Department of Transportation compliance, company policies, and discipline. Assists in office in absence of senior staff, and ensure performance and advise of any issues.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Requires high school diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years dispatching experience in the demand-response transportation field. Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of transit operations and practices. Knowledge of roads and streets within the ATCOG region and planning methods. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Automated Dispatch programs.

Skill/Ability Computer skills in a Windows environment. Basic arithmetic and proper use of the English language, spelling and grammar required. Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with proper public contact and telephone etiquette. Must possess ability to dispatch vehicles utilizing computerized dispatch software; the ability to operate vehicles in a safe and lawful manner in accordance with motor vehicle laws and regulations; and ability to resolve passenger issues and deal with emergencies in a calm manner. Must possess ability to respond to requests and inquiries from general public with tact and courtesy. Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 3o pounds required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Requirement: Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license subject to an approved motor vehicle report and reliable transportation with valid proof of insurance for travel within the ATCOG region.
