Job Description Summary:


  • Leads the corporate communications function for FedEx Corporation and its operating subsidiaries worldwide, including media relations, issues/crisis management, internal communications, public affairs communications, social media, executive support, and community relations.
  • Develops innovative and strategic communication programs that are aligned with corporate objectives, integrated across functions, and add value to the business.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Significant experience leading an effective communications program with an emphasis on media relations
  • Excellent communications, human relations and problem solving skills
  • Directly related experience may offset degree requirements

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Drives the communications strategy to position FedEx for the future with an innovative and collaborative mindset.
  • Leads the team in executing communications plans that build, protect, and enhance the FedEx brand and reputation.
  • Collaborates effectively across the Global Marketing and Communications organization to identify opportunities for integration and using communication strategies and channels to help advance business objectives.
  • Maintains ongoing positive contact with external stakeholders of FedEx, including members of the business media and key influencers.
  • Creates effective teams and efficiently executes multi-faceted projects and programs. This includes proven leadership skills in breaking down organizational silos, developing potential in team members, aligning teams in support of a business or organizational mission, and properly measuring and reporting results.
  • Prepares, administers and adheres to realistic budgets with financial controls. Manages outside vendors and agencies in strict adherence to company policies and procedures. Identifies and commands appropriate processes necessary to achieve goals, yet possesses the creativity and flexibility to improvise when necessary to meet deadlines or get results.
  • Applies research and analysis to determine both opportunities and challenges.
  • Creates and maintains an open, collaborative work environment that treats all team members fairly and with respect and encourages open and honest internal communication, while continually focusing each team member on the importance of quality execution of all work product.
  • Ensures the availability of development opportunities for team members that seek career growth.
  • Ability to travel as needed for business priorities and key engagements.
