TOWN OF ROCKY MOUNT

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator/Trainee

The Town of Rocky Mount is currently seeking a pool of qualified applicants for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator/Trainee. Duties of the position under the supervision of a certified treatment plant operator, but are not limited to:

• service pumps, valves, motors, controls, and other plant equipment
• monitor treatment processes
• perform required laboratory tests and analyses
• inspect and clean filters, tanks, and aerators
• maintain logs of operational controls and maintenance

Commercial driver’s license required at time of hiring or must obtain within six months of employment. If not certified as an operator at the time of hire, obtaining WWTP Class Operator licenses is expected. Competitive pay and excellent fringe benefits such as, but not limited to, employee only health, dental, and vision paid for by employer, contribution of up to $500 by employer towards a flexible spending account, and begin accruing 6.50 hours every two weeks of paid time off (PTO).
