Olin Corporation is hiring an Information Security Systems Specialist to be located at the Winchester Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO (Kansas City area). In the role of the Information Security Systems Specialist, you will represent the Information Security department within project teams across the M&I (Modernization & Innovation) organization, to assess the Cybersecurity needs of new IT and OT systems which include: Servers (physical and virtual), Desktops (physical and virtual), Switches, SCADA, PLC, NAE, etc. This role will be crucial to the successful deployment of new and upgraded systems, ensuring that systems are implemented securely utilizing least functionality principles, and by following DoD system hardening guidelines. This position will work collaboratively with vendor suppliers to ensure that IT and OT system builds align with both DoD/Army regulations, and Olin Winchester IT Security organizational processes, standards, and strategies.

Information Security Systems Specialist Essential Job Functions:

  • Review SOW and RFP documents to assess project implementation impact on overall Cybersecurity posture
  • Ensures IT security design, processes, and procedures are aligned with organizational Information Security strategies, best practices, and DoD/Army regulations
  • Collaborate with vendor system suppliers to ensure the handoff of cybersecurity IT and OT systems
  • Perform “hardening” assessments of new and upgraded systems to ensure the principle of least functionality is implemented
  • Perform System Administrator role within air-gapped stand-alone networks
  • Engage with other IT disciplines including Infrastructure & Operations, Applications Development, and Corporate Enterprise departments to implement Information Security initiatives
  • Support the development of System Security Plans, Cyber Improvement Plans, and Security Operating Policies and Procedures
  • Perform security engineering estimates and assist with system configurations
  • Perform system hardening activities to ensure systems meet the required levels of security
  • Understand system architecture drawings and recommend secure design implementations

Information Security Systems Specialist Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT Security or System Administrator experience
  • Certification such as Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH), GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP), or other similar certification preferred
  • Knowledge of information security concepts and technologies such as networking, network segmentation, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, IPS\IDS, network analysis tools, data loss prevention, security event management, encryption technologies, proxies, cloud services, mobile devices, etc.
  • Ability to install, administer, and maintain at least one of the folloring server environments: VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and/or Windows Server
  • Knowledge of the Purdue Model architecture, and NIST 800-82R2 guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security preferred
  • Experience with system configuration and provisioning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidentially with all levels of IT management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to mitigate risks
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously with varying degrees of complexities and timelines
  • Demonstrates a genuine desire for continuous learning and process improvement
  • Have a team player attitude with a willingness to work with other team members
  • Approximately 10% travel is required
  • Able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance level 'Secret'.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
