About the Agency
Northwest AEA provides special education and school improvement services to 34 public school districts and 32 accredited, non-public schools. The agency serves 45,000 students and more than 5000 educators in a 10-county area of Northwest Iowa (Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien, Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, and Crawford).
Our headquarters is located across from the Morningside College campus in Sioux City with regional offices in Cherokee, Denison, Le Mars, Onawa, and Sioux Center.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency, two years post-secondary education
Job Purpose: Provide support to hearing and other staff as requested. Manage the hearing appointment process including scheduling, correspondence, and reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Schedule direct student services that will take place in AEA facilities.
- Complete and send out student reports as assigned.
- Enter demographic information for student reports.
- Receive families courteously, determine their needs, check appointments and escort visitors to the proper location.
- Perform correspondence and reporting associated with scheduled appointments.
- Respond timely to phone calls, voice mail, and email.
- Maintain confidentiality of records.
- Utilize knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Complete purchase requests for items needed using the agency purchasing procedures.
- Support the special education department (For example: assisting with IMS related documentation as designated).
- Support other agency providers.
- Provide support as needed to AEA administrators and certified staff on projects and routine tasks.
- Know basic policies and procedures related to the provision of special education services.
- Perform office duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
