We’re looking for an Accountant to join our rapidly growing team in our Plymouth, MN office or in our Chicago, IL office - located in the Willis Tower. We are looking for candidates in the Minneapolis, MN area or the Greater Chicagoland area as this is an on-site position.
What You’ll Do:
The Accountant will perform several levels of various accounting responsibilities such as importing invoices into the accounting system, help the billing team with past due reconciliations and various tasks assigned by the Accounting Supervisor for support of the billing and accounting departments. The role’s day-to-day duties include (but are not limited to):
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Summarize current financial status; prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
- Document financial transactions by entering account information
- Assist in Accounts Payable processing
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Create, post and/or email invoices to various client websites/email addresses
- Complete other duties as necessary
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or GED diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience with AR/AP or general accounting
- Thorough knowledge of general accounting processes
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must type at least 50 WPM
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Problem-solving, documentation, data analysis, research, and resolution skills
- Excellent customer service

- Experience with month end close (preferred)
- Sage experience (preferred)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are variable and based on business need. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Requirements: This position is indoors. Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. May be asked to lift approximately 25 lbs. Exposure to moderate noise and light, i.e business office with computers, phone, printers, light foot traffic.
