Seeking a Mail Cargo Agent to join our team!

As a Mail Cargo Agent, you will route inbound and outbound air cargo and USPS mail shipments to their destinations. This will require you to handle orders over the telephone, track shipments for customers, and physically handle cargo manually or by machine using a forklift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Receives and responds to inquiries from the public, airlines, agencies, and company employees

· Receives, delivers, and processes cargo and Comat

· Scans and sorts inbound and outbound mail

· Expedites and routes incoming and outgoing cargo, freight, and mail shipments to and from docks

· Physically handles Cargo and Comat, manually and/or by machine (i.e. Forklift)

· Tracks shipments for customers

· Arranges freight and cargo to be picked up for delivery

· Provides cargo security screening of all cargo

· Loads and offloads cargo in and out of carts

· Accepts and processes Hazardous/Restricted material shipments in accordance with company and governmental rules and regulations

· Examines manifests, bills of lading, and air waybills to determine work procedures for releasing cargo

· Authorizes final approval for cargo release

· Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Friendly and outgoing personality

· Self-motivated and a team player

· Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English

· Able to work in stressful situations and with tight time constraints

REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to complete a background check, including FBI criminal history, employment background, and pre-employment drug test

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Must be a U.S. citizen or provide proof of right to work in the U.S.

· Must be registered with Selective Service, if applicable

· Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Previous cargo experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 70 pounds

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time
